At the Craft Maltsters Guild, one of our primary missions is to provide comprehensive education to our members across all facets of the craft malt industry. We are dedicated to promoting the tradition of craft malting through robust educational services and resources. Below is an overview of the Educational resources available to all of our members.

Webinar and Video Library: Gain exclusive access to over 100 video recordings of seminars from our annual conference, MaltCon, and our bi-monthly webinar series. Topics covered include advanced malting techniques, industry trends, and more. Visit the members-only section of craftmaltersguild.com to explore these valuable resources.

Bi-Monthly Webinar Series: Join our upcoming webinar focused on safety issues with Jeremy Armstrong-Waugh on July 27th at 3:00 pm EST. He will discuss “Hidden Hazards of a Malthouse.” Can’t attend live? All webinars are recorded and accessible in the Members Only section for your convenience.

Manuals and Guides: Access the Craft Maltsters Guild Quality and Safety Manual, as well as Base and Specialty Malt Flavor Maps, directly on our website. Later this year, our Education Committee will release Responsible Production Guidelines, a culmination of a three-year project led by Twila Soles (Grouse Malthouse), Alicia Hudson (Gambrinus Malting), Kether Scharff-Gray (Mainstem Malt), and Bruce French (BJF Malt Consulting Inc.). These resources are exclusively available to guild members.

MaltCon: Our annual MaltCon conference features two days of intensive seminars covering topics such as malting techniques, barley breeding programs, sustainable farming practices, sensory guidelines, and safety protocols. For those unable to attend in person, we offer virtual registration options and post all sessions on the Members Only section of our website, ensuring you never miss out on the latest insights from this valuable conference.

On a slightly different note, the Craft Maltsters Guild is very excited to announce we are expanding what has been Craft Malt Week into an entire month. This September we will host the first ever Craft Malt Month.  The month will highlight the deep and meaningful connection between local agriculture and craft beverages through special events and digital activations. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate another year of small grains cultivated and harvested across our growing community. Now is the time to start planning your events. Please post all your Craft Malt Month events at craftmaltmonth.com so we can help you spread the word!

Cheers!
