Craft Malt Month is a community-wide annual celebration held every September, bringing together farmers, maltsters, brewers, distillers, and consumers to honor the artistry and impact of craft malt. This is a unique opportunity for the entire craft malt supply chain to showcase its talents, educate the public, and celebrate the craftsmanship behind malt production.
Get Involved
The Craft Maltsters Guild is excited to announce that all of September is dedicated to raise awareness and funds for those invested in the craft malt community. Let’s raise a glass and support farmers, maltsters, distillers, and craft beverage enthusiasts.
Brewers! 2025 Craft Malt Month Collaboration – Festbier Theme!
For 2025, we’re encouraging malthouses and breweries to collaborate on a Festbier to celebrate Craft Malt Month! This classic, malt-forward style is the perfect way to showcase the season with craft malt and bring attention to the importance of local, quality ingredients.
Of course, other malt-forward ales and lagers are welcome— what matters most is celebrating craft malt and collaboration!
Examples of how to structure the fundraiser could be:
Percentage of Proceeds for the beer(s) sold during craft malt month. Ex 50-100% of proceeds
Dollar amount set aside for each beer(s) sold during craft malt month. Ex $0.50-$1.00 per beer sold.

Distillers! Craft Malt Month Maltster Collaboration
Malthouses and craft malt-certified distilleries collaborate to create a special Craft Malt Month spirit, distilled now and aged for release during a future Craft Malt Month. This collaboration highlights the quality and character of craft malt in spirits while fostering long-term connections between maltsters and distillers.
Distilleries can also create a special Craft Malt Month cocktail to be served in distillery tasting rooms or a limited bottle release with a portion of proceeds donated back to the guild.
