One of the things that makes organizations like ours successful is hearty participation and volunteerism from within our community. To that end, our Board of Directors has positions available for community members of many types: Member Malthouses, Individuals, Allied Trade, and International or Developing Malthouses. Each of these voices contribute to the development of Guild programming and help to drive our mission of promoting and sustaining the tradition of craft malting.

Board of Directors and Nominations

Elections for our Board of Directors are currently underway, and nominations are being accepted for several positions on the Board. As an active and working Board, our directors collaborate closely with the Executive Director, contributing to projects that support the Guild’s mission. Board members contribute a few hours each attending the monthly Board meeting and participating on at least one Board committee. Questions about serving on the Board can be directed to Steve Clark of Troubadour Maltings, Chair of the Nominations Committee.

Election Timeline

Nominations are open through December 20, 2024. If you have a desire to serve on the Board or know someone who would be a good candidate, I encourage you to submit a name in nomination. Details about the nominations process and the available positions can be found on the Guild’s website.

Voting will take place in January, open the first two weeks of the month. . Newly elected Board members will be announced during  the Guild’s Annual meeting, January 16, 2025, held via Zoom. This annual meeting is a great opportunity for all members to meet with the Board of Directors and review the Guild’s work from the prior year. We hope that you will take time to join us. Your feedback is critical in helping the Board of Directors to shape Guild goals and policy going forward.

More Opportunities To Get involved

For those who are eager to contribute but are unable to commit to a Board position, we invite you to consider joining one of our committees. Committees focused on Marketing, Education, MaltCon, and Membership are all open for participation from any Guild member. Please reach out to our Executive Director, Steve Kurowski, at [email protected] if you are interested in learning more about the committees.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication. Wishing you a joyful and fulfilling conclusion to 2024.
