Building upon our first successful Craft Malt Day in 2019, the Craft Maltsters Guild is excited to announce the inaugural Craft Malt Week happening September 27th to October 3rd, 2020. Craft Malt Week showcases the craft malt industry through events and social media spotlights. We invite each of our members and the breweries and distilleries they work with to join the movement. Let’s celebrate Craft Malt!
The inaugural Craft Malt Week is September 27th to October 3rd.
Set on the same day as the Harvest Moon, Craft Malt Day (October 1st this year!) and now Craft Malt Week highlight the deep and meaningful connection between local agriculture and craft beer. We are building a durable and sustainable supply chain focused on high-quality, regionally sourced grains that bring unique character to the craft beer and spirits industries.
The first Craft Malt Day in 2019 also marked the launch of our Craft Malt Certified Seal program. During our first year, we have achieved “coast to coast” utilization and have set a goal of signing up 100 breweries and distilleries in our first year. Click here to find a participating brewer or distiller near you!
Share your supply chain success story.
Tell us why YOU craft malt. Nominate an old post or share a new post on Facebook or Instagram by September 25th. Make sure you tag @craftmalting and use the hashtag #craftmaltweek. We’ll select the most inspiring stories to highlight on the Guild’s social media feeds during the Craft Malt Week!
Put on an event.
This is a fantastic week to engage your community. Think farm tours, malthouse tours, malt sensory sessions, Craft Malt Certified brewery and distillery tours, craft malt-derived product tastings, craft malt themed podcasts, and beyond! Get creative with virtual events, safely-distanced in-person experiences, or hybrid approaches.
Spread the word on social media.
