The Malt Academy will host a 1-Week Intensive Malting Course at the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre from November 28 to December 2, 2022. This hands-on course is designed to give participants theoretical and practical knowledge of malting technology, the malt manufacturing process, and the factors that influence malt quality and its impact on brewing performance. The 1-week intensive gets into significantly more depth on malting than the 3-Day Malting Overview Course (also offered at CMBTC) and is geared toward people who are working for a malting company or are maltsters, aspiring or otherwise, themselves. The course is capped at 12 people. Registration to attend is $2100 US and includes lunch each day.

Students are responsible for all other travel expenses. People can register online to reserve a spot, it just takes a couple of minutes, and payment is not required to register. Those from outside of Canada wishing to attend should know the government of Canada recently loosened entry restrictions so there are no longer complicated entry requirements and while they will be taking all precautions during the course, there is no proof of vaccination required to attend.
