The Malt Academy will host a 3-Day Malting Overview Course at the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre in early November. This course provides an overview of the Canadian malting barley value chain offering participants theoretical and practical knowledge of malting technology and processing, an understanding of malting barley selection criteria, quality evaluation, malt analysis, specialty malts, and brewing, as well as a review of global barley, malt and brewing statistics. The 3-day course is a high-level overview of malting and the malting industry designed for people who work in the sector but may not actually work for a malting company. The course is capped at 16 people. Registration is $1,050 US and includes lunch each day. Students are responsible for all other travel expenses. People can register online to reserve a spot, it just takes a couple of minutes, and payment is not required to register. Those from outside of Canada wishing to attend should know the government of Canada recently loosened entry restrictions so there are no longer complicated entry requirements and while they will be taking all precautions during the course, there is no proof of vaccination required to attend.
