MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Participants at the 2022 Craft Brewers Conference are invited to meet the Craft Maltsters Guild and learn more about the Craft Malt Certified™ Seal at Booth 343 at BrewExpo America. The Guild will be joined by the Artisan Grain Collaborative, a regional network focused on promoting a regenerative grainshed in the Midwest.
What’s Happening
Each morning of the conference, the Guild will provide hot steeped malt wort samples to expo-goers while supplies last. On May 3, the sample malts will include specialty malts, on May 4, non-traditional grains, and on May 5, Malt Cup medal-winning malts. These samples were provided by Admiral Maltings (CA), Empire Malting Company (MI), Grouse Malt House (CO), Maltwerks (MN), Perennial Pantry (MN), Rabbit Hill Farms (NJ), Root Shoot Malting (CO), Sugar Creek Malt Co. (IN), Voyager Craft Malt (Australia), and Wyoming Malting Company (WY).

While You’re In Minneapolis
On Tuesday, May 3, don’t miss the Sun Dog’s IPA tapping at EastLake Craft Brewery, one of Minneapolis’ Craft Malt Certified breweries. This Juicy Citra IPA is a collaboration brew made with craft malt from Guild Member Malthouses across the country: Maltwerks, Riverbend Malt House (NC), Root Shoot Malting, and Admiral Maltings.
Additional beers brewed with craft malt will be available on tap at events sponsored by Minnesota craft maltster, Maltwerks being held throughout the week. On Monday, May 2, Maltwerks and the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters, a conservation initiative led by Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness, will be pouring beers brewed with wild rice at Bad Weather Brewing in St. Paul. Then on Thursday, May 5, celebrate the close of another CBC with Maltwerks at Craft Malt Certified Dual Citizen Brewing Co. Beers from over ten different breweries will be on tap. A shuttle bus will be provided to and from the convention center to each event from 5-9:30 PM CST on both nights.
