Asheville, NC ––  The Craft Maltsters Guild completed its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) mission statement earlier this quarter, and will gather its membership in an upcoming virtual town hall to discuss the organization’s commitment to DEI initiatives.

The Guild has engaged Principal Dr. J Jackson-Beckman of Crafted For All, an organization committed to empowering craft beverage organizations to develop inclusive, equitable, and just practices, for their DEI work throughout 2021; and is pleased to announce their mission statement deeply influenced by her practices, leadership, and patience.

The Craft Maltsters Guild believes people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are essential to building strong, healthy communities. Strong communities employ inclusive practices that allow a broad spectrum of voices to be heard ensuring equitable access and opportunity for all.

The Guild is committed to providing equitable access to education and opportunities in the craft malt industry to all. We recognize and welcome the contributions all people bring to our industry while honoring their diversity in background, education, abilities, culture, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, and beliefs. The Craft Maltsters Guild is a community for everyone.

The Guild is committed to creating and maintaining an equitable, inclusive, and just environment for their members and those interested in joining the craft malt community. In the months ahead, Guild leadership will work diligently to incorporate these philosophies into all aspects of the organization.

A Virtual Town Hall is slated for the Guild’s membership on November 3rd, 2021 at 12 pm PT / 3 pm ET. This meeting is the membership’s opportunity to hear more about the Guild’s DEI efforts to date and learn why it’s so important this work is being done. There will also be space for questions and information about how to get involved. Sign up for the Town Hall here

“Guild leadership is wholeheartedly committed to doing this work,” says Guild Executive Director Jesse Bussard. “I encourage members to join us for the virtual town hall to hear firsthand about our DEI efforts, learn why we’re doing this, ask questions, and find out how they can get involved.”
