The Craft Maltsters Guild recently announced the undertaking of their new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiative and accompanying mission statement in a virtual Town Hall held on Thursday, November 3rd, 2021. Crafted For All was an instrumental component in helping the organization develop this initiative and will continue to be a key force behind maintaining it as the Guild continues this work into the future.

Crafted For All is a consulting firm and professional development platform that fosters inclusive, equitable, and just spaces and experiences in the craft beverage sector. That ranges from maltsters to brewers, to associations, and beyond. With their support and advice, the Guild has committed to creating an inclusive, equitable, and just environment.

To help foster this initiative, the Guild has engaged Principal Dr. J Jackson-Beckham of Crafted For All for their DEI work throughout 2021. Among her contributions has been the development of the Guild’s official DEI mission statement, which was debuted and discussed at the Guild’s most recent town hall meeting. Watch the recording here.

Dr. J. discussed the mission statement and broke down what it meant piece by piece with a focus on action, practicality, and sustainability.

“What’s important is that there is a ‘doing’ that comes with the believing’,” said Dr. J. “If you don’t do the ‘doing’ part, then you’re a bunch of people sitting around, valuing diversity, and nothing changes.”
