During our July Board meeting, Chris Swersey announced his resignation from the Board effective immediately. This resignation was driven by his change in job responsibilities with the Brewers Association. Going forward, he will be focused solely on event management. Chris’s Board seat will remain open until our next election in early 2021.

His presence on the Board will be deeply missed. We have consistently looked to Chris (and his predecessor Chuck Skypeck) for guidance on managing growth, governance issues, and membership communications. Their collective expertise and experience have been invaluable to our organization and I do not believe we would be where we are today without the Brewers Association.

While Chris will be stepping away as a voting Board member, we will continue to interface with Chuck Skypeck and Kalyn Kirkpatrick who will play an advisory role on our Technical Working Group. We have also set up a quarterly call between our organizations to manage collaborative efforts surrounding barley research and government lobbying efforts.

We wish Chris and everyone at the Brewers Association all the best in the months ahead and look forward to better times when we can share beers together in person.
