By Brent Manning, Board President

Hello everyone, I hope the summer is treating you well. As the COVID rollercoaster continues, I hope everyone is staying safe out there!

The Guild Board of Directors has been busy over the last few months, with each working group managing some exciting projects. We’ve made some upgrades to the Guild’s website which will hopefully improve your experience on the site and make it easier to find things. We’ve also added access to a data analytics app called MaltVis. This is a great tool that can help drive consistency and root out problems in your malthouse. Many thanks go to our friends at Admiral Maltings for sharing this valuable resource.

Planning for the 2022 Craft Malt Conference in Portland, Maine is also underway. We’re excited to move forward with a hybrid version of in-person and online presentations. This will facilitate valuable networking in person while providing access to our ever-growing community of international members.

Lastly, be sure to mark your calendars for this year’s Craft Malt Week (September 19th-25th, 2021). This week offers an excellent opportunity to share your story with a larger audience. Plan an event or interview with some of your best customers and tag the Guild so that we can continue to get the word out about our industry.

As always, please feel free to reach out with questions or suggestions on how the Guild can better serve your needs in these ever-changing times.
